The Point of Believing When Everything Feels Broken

The First Step👣

There’s a moment when the noise gets too loud. You hear another story about a church scandal. Another preacher with a private jet. Another post using the name of God to justify hate. And you wonder, is any of this real anymore? Can anything about faith still be trusted?
At the same time, the world outside doesn’t offer peace either. The economy is unstable. Violence feels too close to home. People are angry, anxious, and disconnected. So, the question surfaces. If following Jesus doesn’t mean avoiding hardship, what is the point?
The Pebble in My Path🚶🏽➡️
This question is heavier than we admit. We look around and it seems like most churches are focused on performance, image, or profit. Some use the Bible like a product label, not a sacred story. And many who claim to speak in the name of Jesus, speak with judgment louder than love.
It’s easy to be skeptical. And honest doubt is healthier than blind belief. The truth is, accepting Jesus doesn’t mean your life magically improves. The bills still come. The heartbreak still stings. The questions don’t all go away.
So again, what’s the point?
The point is this: Jesus isn’t an escape hatch. He is an anchor. In a stormy world, where everything is uncertain, He doesn’t remove the waves. He walks with you through them.
The Compass🧭

Finding Jesus is not about avoiding pain. It is about finding direction when you are lost in it.
When you walk with Him, you’re not promised a life without struggle. You’re promised the wisdom to choose better paths. The clarity to see things for what they really are. The strength to keep going when you feel like quitting.
This relationship is not about religion. It is about connection. When you walk closely with Him, you learn to breathe differently. To think differently. You make decisions that heal instead of harm.
It is like walking with a guide in a dark forest. The terrain doesn’t change. But your steps become more confident.
Isaiah 43:2 says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” It doesn’t say you won’t go through the waters. It just says you won’t go alone.
The Open Trail🛣️
If you have been wondering what the point of faith is, let me offer this.
Jesus does not promise a life of comfort. He promises a life of meaning.
You still walk through the valley. But now, you walk with someone who knows the way out.
You still face the storm. But now, your foundation holds.
He is not an escape from reality. He is your strength in the middle of it.
And when you walk with Him long enough, you will look back and realize that even in the struggle, you were being shaped into someone stronger, wiser, and freer.
Maybe that’s the miracle we’ve missed all along.
