This Is Why You Feel Disconnected

The First Step👣

It’s hard to speak up these days. Say one thing, and someone rolls their eyes. Say another, and someone unfollows. Even in a grocery store parking lot, a stranger can go from calm to chaos over something as small as a parking spot.

Everyone seems on edge. Not just online, but everywhere. In line at the bank. On the freeway. At work. There’s a heaviness in the air. A kind of ambient anxiety that hums quietly beneath our schedules and scrolls.

It’s like the world is trying to shout over itself. And in all that noise, it's easy to lose track of our center. Easy to forget what peace feels like.

This is why I’m writing. Not to preach. Not to post another “keep calm” message. But to ask the question I’ve been asking myself:

How do we find God in the middle of all this?

The Pebble in My Path 🚶🏽‍➡️

There was a time when tuning in felt simpler. Before we carried the world in our pockets. Before every notification came with an emotion. Before peace became a daily pursuit instead of a given.

Now it feels like we have to re-center every hour. Like peace can vanish as quickly as your thumb can open a screen.

You can wake up grounded. But by lunch, you're comparing. By dinner, you're scrolling. By bedtime, you're anxious again.

We’ve swapped stillness for stimulation. Reflection for reaction. We’ve traded deep connection for quick commentary.

And most days, we don’t even realize it’s happening. Because the noise doesn’t scream. It creeps.

So how do we come back? Not to the past, but to the present. To something real. To something rooted. To something like God.

The Compass🧭

Finding God in 2025 doesn’t look like it used to.

It’s no longer just about morning devotionals and a peaceful playlist. Now, it’s about turning the dial again and again throughout the day.

Like an old radio, you can’t just tune it once and expect the signal to stay clear. You adjust. You listen. You re-tune. Not because God moved, but because the static got louder.

So what does tuning look like now?

It’s putting your phone face down for ten minutes to breathe and remember who you are. It’s choosing to smile at the cashier even when your day’s been hard. It’s taking a walk without headphones. It’s praying before you post. It’s asking yourself, “Am I leading with love or ego?” before a tough conversation. It’s opening the Bible, not to prove a point, but to find peace. It’s learning to sit quietly, not in punishment, but in practice. Because the quieter we become, the clearer He speaks.

Peace is no longer passive. It’s a practice.

We don’t stumble into it. We choose it. We tune into it. We protect it.

The Open Trail🛣️

Maybe this blog isn’t a solution. Maybe it’s a reminder. A check-in. A deep breath in a loud room.

You are not crazy for feeling overwhelmed. The world is loud. But peace is still possible.

And no, you don’t have to become a monk or delete every app. But you can pause. You can choose what enters your heart. You can re-tune.

And each time you do, you move one step closer to that frequency. The one where God’s presence is not a distant echo, but a quiet song humming beneath the chaos.

So today, before the world tries to hijack your peace, start tuning. And keep tuning. Morning, noon, and night.

Because God hasn’t stopped speaking . We’ve just stopped listening.

Stay barefoot. Stay honest. Stay close to the ground.
